We are all gamers

That's my theory at least. Everyone enjoys a video game. Its just a matter of finding which one. I'm certain my grandmother thought the games my brothers and I played over at her house when we were young we so silly...as she sat there playing a handheld solitaire game.

I really enjoy finding what these games are in people. When I play video games with friends or family there is sometime this awkwardness as I try to explain the game and they just don't get it. But then we might come across a game that just seems to click with them and we can't stop playing it.

That happened for my friend Gabe and I the other night as we played a couple games on Wii Sports Resort. We were having a good time but it was nothing compared to what happened when I introduced Frisbee Golf. We played like crazy! We couldn't stop!

The other day Kimmel and I rediscovered a game that we played back in middle school. I really think that is our niche game. We laugh, we're challenged, we flat out have a good time.

Maddie and I have a couple, but we enjoy Animal Crossing, Cooking Mama, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Not to mention we love playing Mario Party 8 with friends.

Maddie is a perfect of the idea that we are all really gamers. We might not be gaming nerds like myself, but everyone enjoys it. She would have never thought she could have spent an hour plus in front of a screen playing a video game and now she has to hide her DS from herself to make sure she doesn't play that instead of studying!

Do I play too many games? Not so much anymore. But I would say I used to play too much. Now I've really settled into a steady pace of gaming that allows me to enjoy playing them more. And I find it so much more exciting to play games with friends than just in my room alone. I think that is the key. God has really been teaching me a lot lately about giving everything to him for his glory. Video games is one of those things that I feel has always been separate of God's glory, not that is evil, but just not edifying. But when they are used as a tool in community with others, to enjoy moments of fun and fellowship with people, those are moments that we worship God for and thank him for the joy and laughter we share.

NOTE: This is my 100th post! Thanks to all my friends who have been reading along with me for so long and those who may just recently have started reading. I enjoy putting my thoughts and stories to the page, thanks for being a part of it.
