So this weekend I get the awesome opportunity to go on a fishing trip. For any of you that know me, you would know that fishing is not my thing. I'm not really good at it...maybe it is the waiting patiently part...
But what is really exciting about this is the fact that I will be in New Mexico...you know where the highs are in the mid-80s right now...yeah...that's right!
It is going to be a really awesome trip. I am going with my father-in-law, brother-in-law, and a family friend of theirs. Seriously, how blessed am I that I have some in-laws that I not only don't mind spending time with, but I look forward to spending time with. It really is an awesome thing!
Speaking of trips, Maddie and I got back from Student Life Camp this past Friday. Let me just say this...wow. I mean God really was moving in the lives of my students, in ways that really got me excited about this upcoming school year. I mean, a lot of students meet with God at camp. It is something you have to try and avoid, its like spending a week in a room with guy with only one arm...eventually you're going to say, "So what happened to your arm?" You have to try to spend a week at camp avoiding God completely. But I know that many of my students went far beyond just meeting with God, they committed to God and allowed him to break their hearts. Such an exciting thing to get to be a part of.
Some people come back from camp completely wiped. Don't get me wrong, I was tired, but it was worth it! It gives me a refreshment for my ministry, and I wasn't even needing it! I was already excited. Talk about throwing gas on the fire! I can honestly say, as excited as I am to get out of town for a weekend, I am going to miss my students this Sunday.
